I purchased the product to assist me in training my students. I have used it with all blowback style weapons and it does make you rely on your ability to use the sights. I purchased the scenario based add on to help prepare the students for real life events that are possible. I feel it is better than just shooting static targets, I also do not think there is now or ever will be a viable replacement for live fire training, but very few ranges will allow you much less encourage you to come out of a holster and move around on the range. It is a superior training aid. I have researched some of the other simulators on the market, some of which were in excess of $20,000, and didn't find them to do anything more than what this one does at a fraction of the price. I plan to add " Open range" to my library of training aids.
