Legacy Reviewer's Review of LaserLyte Side Mount Laser for Smith & Wesson Revolvers
I'm a retired cop, a firearms instructor and armorer, a competitive shooter, with 45+ years shooting experience.
I had to send the first unit back because it wouldn't hold zero. The jury is still out on the replacement. I tried this laser to compare it to Crimson Trace, as a lower cost alternative. The mounting plate system seems to be stout to hold the laser unit in place. The laser unit seems to be a little flimsy. I tried to like this unit, but having to reach over the back of the revolver to activate it, will require you to change your draw.
Overall, if you are on a budget, give it a try, but practice activating the laser on your draw until it becomes instinctive. I wasn't to impressed...
Pros: It makes a good pet toy..
Cons: won't hold zero, bad CS
