Bought this as a gift for older man and the process required for battery preservation was a bit complicated for his purpose. Since it is sound activated, you must disassemble the top portion of the laser each time. It's not that complicated, but difficult enough for older hands and poor eyes. I could see quickly he wasn't going to use it much. We also found that it misfired quite a bit.
I wound up returning it and replacing it with the model that has the built in laser (LQ-2D-LT-TTLC). Instead of sound activation, it is simply activated by pulling the trigger. The number of shots per battery life are significantly higher. It's exactly what I hoped for originally.
