Most Helpful Positive Review LaserMax CenterFire Laser Sight for Ruger LCP
I opened the box removed the laser and installed it within minutes. I took it to the range and sighted it in within 20 shots. Made this hard to aim pistol to get on target quickly and hit the target accurately in seconds. Very Happy with the purchased. Pros: Easy to install and zero in. Reasona...

Most Helpful Negative Review New with switch problems
The LaserMax came with the LCP new. Did approximately 50 rounds thru it and was easy to adjust and seemed to work fine. Was pleased at that time. Upon cleaning the LCP I tried to turn the laser on and found the switch jammed. Gently worked with it and finally got it to turn on. Tried to turn it...

Not Happy with this unit

by unhappy camper, from OK, United States Written on March 5, 2020
I purchased a GS-LCP2-G a couple of years ago and am not happy with it. When it works its nice but the battery life is less than 90 DAYS. With the unit mounted and stored in the safe, Not being used, And the grip sense turned off I do a quick on/off test once a month that lasts for 2-3 seconds. Within 3 months the battery is dead, that averages out to be a total "ON" time of 9 seconds per battery. Not a very practical home defense weapon if I have to remember to replace a $5 battery every 2 months to insure it will work when I need it. I contacted Lasermax and they replaced the original unit under warranty and the second unit did the same thing. Contacted them again and they sent me two free batteries, nice try but it still does the same thing. Have contacted them again today to see what they will do.
Pros:
  • Fair price, easy to see and use
Cons:
  • Not reliable due to short battery life

It fit very well, no problems and a great price. I have not had time to sight in yet, but it should be easy enough, according to instructions. I am looking forward to going out and getting it done. Waiting for my son too have enough time off from work so he can go along.

First Time Buyer

by Strap, from MI, United States Written on September 8, 2017
The laser unit was very easy to attaché to my pistol. It snapped on easy, and the screws hold it very tight. The laser adjustment tool included worked well. The adjustment is easy to do, just a small turn of the wrench is needed to move the point a lot, so go easy at first. The laser can be turned on quickly with a little practice during the draw. I used it during a sunny day at the range, at 10 yards, red dot was very easy to see on the target. It gets you on the target without using the sights if needed. That's what you need with a pocket pistol. Looks and works great out of the box.
Pros:
  • easy to assemble
  • bright red dot
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Pocket pistols used up close

Review Update

by Larry Melton, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on April 16, 2017
I previously wrote a review that was not supportive of this sight. It was received with the elevation adjustment not functioning. I'm pleased to say that OpticsPlanet was quick to respond with a replacement, and waived the 3 day shipping fee.

I received the new one in two days, versus there, and it appears to be functioning as advertised. I will take it to the range later to complete the sighting in.

As far as the red laser not being visible at longer ranges, I have to say that mounted on the Ruger LCP, it is what I call a belly button gun. It is not intended to be useful much beyond 7 to 15 yards, as it is a backup/hideaway weapon. Basically, it is something that will take care of the bad guys at close range, and at more distant targets, it will suffice to get me to my .45 ACP in the car.

Laser accurate

by Norcoredneck, from AZ, United States Written on January 17, 2016
Fit the gun well. Like the new switch vs the old slide bar switch. Mine came battery installed and was dead. Possible repackage? Maybe. Optics planet would not ship these batteries to CA. Where I was at. Lasermax sent me one. Hard to find battery but can substitute readily available 357 X 2 batteries.
Pros:
  • Fit well,
  • New type switch
Cons:
  • Received with dead battery
Best Used for:
  • Low light defensive shooting

Laser Max Centerfire Sight for LCP

by Joe, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on December 30, 2015
The sight was received quickly after ordering and within minutes it was installed on my Ruger LCP. It has a very bright laser red dot and can be used as a steady light or a pulsating one. It has both elevation and windage adjustments if needed. All in all, it appears to be a good solid piece of equipment. Time will tell, but my initial impression is a good one.

  • Concealed Carry Inside waist Band

LaserMax Laser Sight

by deko, from SC, United States Written on July 8, 2015
Easy to install and totally adjustable for elevation and left/right. After about 10 rounds I did have to re-adjust slightly, but since then it is right on the money. Easy reach access for on and off switch. So far very pleased with purchase. Also, battery is the same as the one in my other laser sight for my 9mm carry gun.
