Edman45's Review of LaserMax Gen. 4 Guide Rod Red Laser Sight for Glocks

This Gen 4 Green Guide Rod laser is much brighter than my red laser sights. It is not as bright as my Crimson Trace green laser sight, on my S&W M&P Shield, but it's still bright enough to be seen in bright sunlight. I have a green guide rod laser sight on my Gen 3 Glock 32, and I like it so much that I got the Green Guide Rod laser sight for my Gen 4 Glock 19. The Gen 4 Green Guide Rod laser has a pulsating green laser, which I like, and it uses less battery power. The Gen 3 guide rod laser has a steady green laser beam. They are not interchangeable because the Gen 3, and the Gen 4 Glock guide rods, are made different, and are not interchangeable. The Green Guide Rod laser was easy to install. After firing 100 rounds, of 9mm +P, it seems to still be accurate. It's not something that you would want to use for bull's eye shooting at 25 yards, although it's easy to see at that distance, but it is great for self defense, combat type shooting.
Pros:
  • Brightness
  • easy to use.
  • Easy to install,
  • Totally contained inside the gun
Cons:
  • price
  • Price of replacement batteries
Best Used for:
  • closer-range encounters
  • Self defense
  • Combat use
  • close range target shooting
