Most Helpful Negative Review Cheezy plastic , bad switch design, not LE quality
The whole unit is made of the cheapest looking plastic and the switch paddles push into an open hole to activate it. My switch quit working first on one side, then the other on the first day, and the company had to have it back before replacement will be sent. Pros: Rechargeable Cons: Switch open t...

Works well if you are going to be at the indoor range, wouldn't use for self defense

by Ten millimeter Jesus, from CO, United States Written on April 12, 2017
I had several issues with this laser. Only a couple good features in my opinion. The laser is very bright and easy to acquire. The chargeable unit is nice if you are able to charge regularly. The unit is mediocre in durability and quality. Not very tough. The laser does not fit any handgun well. No matter the pistol it is always just out of fingertip range once installed. No good for self defense use if you count on a laser at your finger tips. If you are just playing at the range or you are the guy that's afraid of his own shadow and needs three pistols just to go to the bathroom then this is gonna be just fine. If you actually train regularly and realize how useless this would be in any real life situation then save the money. I still can't believe how much this laser cost. I received it as a gift and thought it was a 50 dollar unit when I saw it the first time. Was shocked when I looked it up and saw the price. My unit arrived missing the mounting screw but a quick email to laser max and a replacement was mailed no questions asked and no charge. That was nice. Honestly folks. This device is for those of you who fantasize that the zombies are coming or you think you will be the good guy that prevents a terrorist attack while looking cool while rocking your CAG baby beard. I like the pulsing laser even though I initially hated it. It really does make acquiring laser much easier. I don't like the fact that it's pulse only. But it is what it is. I like the charging feature. ...

Don't waste your money

I bought my first LaserMax Genesis Rechargeable Green Laser was happy with it for about 3 months then it stopped holding a charge. Called the company very friendly and helpful they exchanged it i figured that it was prob just a faulty one. After about 3 wks the button on the right side stopped turning the laser on (left was good so i just went with it) few wks after that whole laser stopped working like the last one. called them asked for my money back and guess what just came in the mail another freaking laser, not even going to open it sending it back and getting my account refunded. I love green lasers very useful but the rechargeable idea just doesn't work.
Pros: .....
Cons: eventually stops holding charge, then the buttons you press to turn it on stop working im not sure if they just wear out or what.

The only drawback I have found, is the switches stick out too far, turns on even when you insert it in a soft pack, which runs the batttery down.....bad news.
Pros: Very Visable, hard not to see it!!
Cons: The switches are too easily bumped, NEEDS to be different.

Won;t hold charge

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on June 17, 2012
Rechargeable battery will not hold a charge. If you want a laser you can depend on buy something else. Battery goes dead just laying around after a couple weeks

Pros: easy to see in day light
Cons: Will not hold a charge

coyote22

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on December 15, 2011
This is the laser that quit(switches)and had to be sent back. When returned, during the first day of shooting on a 10/22 Ruger, the left paddle switch already fails to work!! The good reviews seem to come from shooters who haven't taken them out of the house yet.
Pros: rechargable
Cons: the engineer of that switch should be fired NOW!

Lazer max rechargeable

by Legacy Reviewer, from IN, United States Written on July 21, 2011
They recommend charging quarterly, but my battery is always dead even when left in safe after 2-3 weeks. I'm going back to purchased batteries as much more dependable in future lazers.
Pros: Easy to sight in and upgraded my grouping from iron sights to 2 in. at 25 yds. from rest.
Cons: cheap little rubber grommet over charging port is hard to get out and can't last long. Sight turns on accidently too often.

Great idea but not well thought out.

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on May 19, 2011
It's a great idea and if it had a master on/off switch I'd probably like it very much. As it is, any light touch will turn the laser on so you couldn't possibly carry a pistol with the Genesis mounted on it. I tried putting it in a small pouch but after carrying it around a day or two I took it out to test it and the battery was dead. I guess if you could leave it on the charger and ask an intruder to hang on for a minute while you mount your laser it would be pretty good. When it's charged up it works very well. Too bad every little touch to either side activates it and eventually kills the battery.
Pros: Easy to mount and zero, lightweight, and it's a niceand bright.
Cons: Too easy to accidently turn on.
