Most Helpful Positive Review Lasermax Infrared Rail Mounted.... WOW!!
This laser is much brighter than what I was anticipating. It does bloom some under 10yrds in the PVS14 but I can easily make shots beyond 300 with the 556 and the dot stays nice and tight. However I bought this for a SBR 22 that I use to get rid of little critters that ruin the garden at night. I didn't want to spend a lot on a different Eotech and the IR laser I did have blocked my field of view in the Eotech. So I bought the Lasermax Infrared Rail Mounted to try out and it is perfect for what I wanted. The battery compartment is super easy to get to as it is on the top. 12 hours of constant ...

Fits the bill

When I received this laser the battery was dead so I contacted Crossman who makes the LaserMax. They were a stand-up solid company and sent me not one but two replacement batteries to make up for it at no cost to me. The product works as advertised and I am overall satisfied. The product definitely is micro in size.

Good inexpensive IR sight

by Jim, from FL, United States Written on December 2, 2015
Recently purchased this sight from Optics Planet. Shipping was very quick, and phone support was also very good.

This is the first IR sight I have used. It seems very bright when viewing through my Gen2+ goggles. It will "bloom" and is almost too bright at 10 yards and closer, although I do not plan on needing to use it that close. I can easily see it past 100 yards.

I was surprised at how small and light this sight is! The battery is easy to change, and the buttons on both sides make it easy for right or left handed use, and mounting on a bottom or top rail. It is so small that I mounted it in front of my daytime scope on the top rail of my AR, and it does not interfere with the scope at all. It is a perfect spot to reach the "on" button as it is right next to my left thumb.

The dot is nice and small, and bright up to about 30 yards, beyond that it is easy to see, but starts to grow in size a little more than I like, but it is still very usable for a fairly accurate shot up to 50 yards or so.

I have not had a chance to put many rounds through the gun yet to see how it holds zero, but if it does well it will be a great laser sight for the price, and I am considering purchasing a second one in the future.
Pros:
  • bright
  • Very small and light weight
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Hunting.

Lasermax Infrared Rail Mounted Laser

by Spike, from TN, United States Written on December 23, 2014
This laser is very compact and works well on either pistols or rifle applications. I was able to easily bore sight my Vortex Spaarc and the Lasermax at the same time. I had all three laser dots overlapping in about 5 minutes. The pricing is right on this unit and it has good range. I would recommend this product.
Pros:
  • Small, light, affordable, and high quality thoughout
Cons:
  • None

Tactically Inclined

by Strawman, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on September 26, 2014
A very good IR Laser for the price. I put on my PVS-14 night vision and compared the IR beam of the Lasermax against the IR beam of a DBAL-I2; the Lasermax beam was slightly stronger, producing a more precise focal point against an opaque object.
