Most Helpful Positive Review LaserMax for Glock 27
I bought this not knowing anybody that used one. I tried a friend's G27 with crimson trace and the grip was too fat. The LaserMax came with easy step-by-step instructions and I had it installed in about 20 minutes. Make sure you use the straw they give you and read all the directions first. I am v...

Most Helpful Negative Review Keeps Turning On
I really liked the idea of this lazer sight, expecially since the Glock 26 does not have rails to attach an external lazer sight, and it is very easy to install and use. The only problem I am having is the lazer keeps turning on without my knowledge while holstered and killing the battery. The end...

Dead on arrival

by Don, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on October 1, 2025
I bought this laser as a gift and it arrived dead on arrival. It appeared to be missing a small internal piece. My dad (the recipient of the gifted lasermax laser) contacted lasermax for a replacement piece. He eventually got it in the mail. When he put the piece in, it still didn't work. When I messaged opticsplanet for a replacement, I never got a message back.

Glock 27 Install

by Griffin955i, from IN, United States Written on January 11, 2024
Very please with the Lasermax Guide Rod Laser Sight. Easy to install and very functional. Only concern is there is a substantial difference in the resistance of the spring compared to original Glock spring. The Glock spring is much more tighter and requires much more force to compress into place.

It's easy just try it

by Keith, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on December 12, 2023
This guide rod laser is about as easy to install as it gets. Very reliable ( my 3rd for Glock) simple battery change and pre-sighted so you can't mess up adjustment.
Pros:
  • Reliable, easy install
Cons:
  • Maybe cost, but you get what you pay for.

Not zeroed in and nothing you can do about it.

by Alvin, from CA, United States Written on February 19, 2022
I ordered the Laser Rod for my Glock 26. Got it within a week! Installation is very easy but once installed, I aligned it with my iron sights and it was beaming to the upper left of my iron sights. It was off centered and not much I can do about it. Since I don't want a inaccurate laser pointer (not to mention fragile, faint blinking light and not much battery life), I returned it. I settled for a TR6, at least it is brighter and my choice of the color green and steady light instead of blinking.
Pros:
  • Easy to install
  • Hidden inside the firearm
Cons:
  • Only one mode and color: Blinking red
  • expensive, 1 hour long batteries ($22)
  • Once installed, light beam was off center and no way to zero in.

Holster Glock 43

by Jmob, from GA, United States Written on July 17, 2021
I can’t find a holster for this guide rod laser. I have to keep batteries in the wrong way, which defeats the purpose. It keeps turning on in holster. If anyone know of a holster for Glock 43 for guide rod laser, I’m all ears!

XD9 in its 11th year had the Lasermax 9yrs

by KennyG, from CA, United States Written on May 16, 2021
Firearms Instructor, Moonlighting as Security Officer on Weekend nights. Shot IDPA and carried concealed sometimes. It was my work gun, my hobby gun and my protection gun for all 9yrs, even after I retired. The Lasermax built in sight MADE my gun! I couldn't compete IDPA using the laser but I was able to shoot the courses after the competition was over.. I love my gun and I at times take the Lasermax for granted because it has NEVER let me down or failed. My advice to you is get one, not cheap, but worth it. I used it working a graveyard one night and came across a male using a slim Jim on cars in an apartment complex. Having confronted him he hid the slim Jim and and pulled out an expandable baton and deployed it. I deplyed my firearm and turned on my Laser and played it across the passenger door window he was attempting to Jimmy, the laser light went across 5hw window so he could see it and then to his chest right over his heart. "Drop the baton, drop it now." He dropped it and did as he was told, to his knees, hands behind his back and cuffed, legs in a figure 4 o I could lean on them while I called 911- at gun point, 7 minutes later he was told his rights and in the cop car.I called my dispatch while I waited and told them I would be some time after the police left as I had to get the manager up and eplain that I could see one other car broken into and the door left open. I honestly believe I would've had my rear end handed to me that night, but my Laser was on point and...

Great idea, bad follow-through

by ThomasJoseph, from WY, United States Written on May 6, 2021
I installed this (LMS-1161) on a Glock 26, and I really like the concept. Contained in the guiderod, no external clutter needed. Easy to turn on and off (but sometimes that is a problem).

Cons:
1. WAY too expensive for what you get. The mark-up on this must be astronomical.
2. Doesn't fit many holsters because of the extended slidelock switch.
3. Can turn on unintentionally, because of the slidelock switch.
4. Kind of a flimsy build. Lost the copper fitting when changing batteries - currently NO SPARE parts available!! WTF?!
5. Poor support - see #4.
6. Laser not quite zeroed, and no way to adjust it. (That is, if it were still working...)

This should be a design for all lasers, but it has to work. This doesn't. Some of the excessive price (for what you get) should go into making a better product.
