Absolutely fantastic
I love this thing. It's the best ambi mag release I've tried to date. The lever works great and makes it so much easier to actuate and drop the mags free. The only issue I ran into is it doesn't play nice with the Geissele maritime bolt catch, since the larger bolt catch will run into the lever on t...

Pad on the right is perfect but the pad on the left is too tall
The right-side pad is perfect; it has the surface area and shape that fits in the recess of MILL SPEC lowers.
For example, I have DSI and Stag arms lowers where this right-side pad surface area and shape fill the recessed area but has plenty of clearance on all sides so it doesn't rub on anything. More surface area = easier to operate with only a trigger finger.
Some will say that could be bad because that surface area makes for "accidentally" pressing and dropping the mag. This "would" be true IF it protruded (out from the side of the receiver.) But since it is inside that recessed area of the receiver the surface of the pad sits flush with the receiver side. Flush = no accidental mag drops.
And now the "bad" or what they need to fix... The pad on the left side sticks out way too far.
At least 1/8 of an inch too tall. Why... The current height of this mag release pad makes it almost impossible to get in and press the tiny nub on a MILL SPEC bolt catch to keep the bolt held to the rear.
As a left-hand shooter, I run Geissele Maritime bolt catches because you don't need to shift your left-hand grip when operating the bolt release to keep the bolt to the rear. Your trigger finger can reach and operate the Maritime pad with ease. Unfortunately, with the height of the mag release pad being so much taller, it's almost a deal breaker with my grip needing to shift to get around the tall mag release pad. Even with the Maritime pad it's too tall. I could glue a ...

Release mag ambidextrous.
I like, look good and work good but for me I use the extend for the release bottom on the right and the left side I installed the ambidextrous bolt release and it's block the release bottom.
Pros:
- Make your AR ambidextrous.
Cons:
- If you install the bolt release it's block the left side.
Would recommend: Yes
Doesn't work well in diamondback DB10
It's a bit of an oversized design and if you have a larger bolt catch and release it will interfere.
Pros:
- It's bigger than some
Cons:
- It's bigger than some

works well!
UTG has had some bad reviews of some products which gives them a bad rap. That being said this ambi mag release works and it works well! I'm very pleased with the quality and it's unique hinged release on the left side.

UTG Ambi Mag release is a welcomed improvement

- Great tolerances
Cons:
- None

Game changer!
It’s a solid upgrade to my AR. Being a lefty I feel like I’ve got a new rifle once installed. The construction seems very solid and reliable. Wish I would have purchased it a long time ago.
Would recommend: Yes
bad screws
The item functions but you’ll strip the screws on the install because of the quality of the screws mine is now stuck on loose unless I want to drill it off
Would recommend: No
