I have an older "pencil barrel" mini-14. These guns tend to have an accuracy problem after the barrel heats up. I purchased these mounts to build a barrel strut to cure this problem. They work great for this, plus I have a place for rail mounted accessories, such as a bipod or tactical light.
Pros: well made, sturdy
Cons: none than I can see
