Not what it's cracked up to be.... - Leapers UTG 2-16x44mm Multi-Range Rifle Scope

Wanted to love this scope so bad. A 2x16x44 with etched reticle should cover all the bases from close to far and be the ideal all purpose scope. Unfortunately some things are too good to be true. The field of view is great on this 2 power and did love the multicolor illumination. Problem is the glass. Low light is actually worse than $60 Simmons and the real deal breaker was only center 50% of scope is clear. Maybe Outer band was total blur. Very upsetting to be seeing x through 7 ring clear on target, but everything outside that was like looking through bottom of glass mason jar. This had nothing to do with paralex either. Even tried all the adjustments for that at different ranges also. For precise target shooting scope would be ok...but not for hunting or real life scenarios. Maybe I got a bad one, but was not impressed with light it gathered either. Eye relief was awful also. Can get a konus or vortex for price of this UTG and glass on those is like difference between night and day. I boxed the thing right back up and sent it back. I also called UTG and they didn't want to discuss how much more clear the basic konus or vortex are or the way the scope doesn't gather light. Hope optics planet takes care of me like they promised.....
