I was very excited to get my scope but it is the 3X scope for my red dot. Pleased except, no matter what I do the view must be from 2 inches to have a full field of view. Better diopter focus is definitely needed. I would have bought a higher priced magnafier it have known the focus was not any better.
Cons:
- Too darn hard to move in or out from position behind red dot
Best Used for:
- Full time behind red dot. Can't swing away without

I am leaving a review before having a chance to put the scope through its paces. I bought this for an AR upper in 5.45 for feral pigs. Just for an out of the box review this scope seems very solid. Controls work smoothly. The lighted mildot reticle works well. Comes with flip up lens covers too. Hopefully I can update this review once it is mounted and field tested.

I got this as a gift for my dad's new .270. I was excited about the multiple color illumination, and I actually like adding more weight to reduce the recoil. The turrets, included sunshade, and durability are all fine features. I was disappointed with the thickness of the reticle and how long it takes to get the colored illumination set up how you want to. It seems to hold zero just fine but for a little more money you could do much better. The brightness is just ok and degrades at higher magnification but not as bad as cheaper scopes I have seen. Overall a usable scope but thinner cross-hairs would aid in accuracy as these are quite thick.
Pros:
- cost
- Solid build
- Tactical Turrets
- integrated sunshade
Cons:
- thick crosshairs
- time needed to scroll through illumination feature

I was looking for a scope with target turrets, in the 3-9X or 3-12X power range for my .17 HMR target rifle. The name Leaper's kept appearing as I read reviews, so I went to the Leaper's site, and read up on their company, design and manufacturing history. It seemed like a very favorable US based company. The optics are made in China, but they are designed here, in the US (Livonia, Michigan). I found it hard to believe that this scope was everything and more that I had wished to find for the price I paid. I decided to take a chance. After all, It came with quick-detachable rings, flip-up end caps and a 36 color choice illuminated mil-dot reticle. If you don.t know what the mil-dot reticle is, I suggest that you read up as I did to understand the concept and usage of the system.
When the box arrived, the first thing I noticed when I unpacked the scope box from the protective-bubble wrap and outer box was the weight...Heavy. It was packed very carefully, as all Optics Planet orders have been. It is well made and fit nd finish get an A1+. The scope rings are very high quality items also. They match the matte-black finish of my rifle and its factory mounted scope rails. I attached the lower halves of the Q-D rings to my scope mounts and inserted the scope. Then I fastened the top rings, excising care to tighten according to the scope owner's manual recommended pattern while making sure that the reticle maintained flatness, parallel with the horizon. I went outside and sighted i...

my rating of 4 stars is definitely influenced by my particular need and the fact that this is a rather long scope. my application is for a yugo AK47 underfold stock rifle that doesn't have the necessary structure to allow for a rail mounting rearward. my only choice was for a tactical furniture change out of the front handguard section that included a rail so the long length of this scope was perfect. i have only had it out to the range once (and put approximately 100 rounds through my rifle with it attached) and it performed perfectly. it was easy to sight in and it held those settings throughout my entire use of this particular rifle that morning. i have little need for the illumination, but i did test it one evening in the dark and it worked perfectly. even though the description on the website didn't include the mounting rings in the contents list, it does come with thumb screw type rings that held tightly once they were installed.

I had difficulty trying to find a scope that could handle the heavy recoil of my break-barrel airguns. I finally found one that seems to stand up to the job. Great clarity and the side AO adjustment is excellent!
Pros:
- Value and Lifetime Warranty

Purchased this scope to put on a RWS 48 springer with heavy recoil and it does the job it was intended for. This scope is very clear, and very accurate on this gun. The rings that came with it work just fine also, no need to upgrade them. I would order the optional wheel for the parallax adjustment; it just makes adjustment that much easier. I torqued everything down to specs, placed a pencil line on the front and back of the scope rail to assure nothing is moving, it isn't. One accurate scope with three different pellets being tested. Bottom line, I am an old military guy who loves shooting accurate weapons and this scope on the RWS 48 completed what was already a good rifle, making it into a great weapon of choice for me. And the price was right at Optics planet too.

I just purchased one. When I received the scope the IE system would not light up. Also when I went to zero at 5yrds the windage turret reached max and stil could not move to the right to get on target. Have to return it. They do have some lemons.

This scope is an excellent product for the price. It has more features than most scopes in this price range, has quality construction, and holds zero. It is easy to set up, and use at various distances.
Pros:
- Priced well.
- quality/price - value/installation
