AT's Review of UTG Pro Over Bore Bipod
If you want a bipod that leaves your handguard free for gripping, this is a great option; however, the bulk (folded and not) required to allow the legs to pass around the handguard makes this impractical for any field use. Keep the QD mount on the front of your gun for when you go to the range but otherwise, find another way to support your firearm in the field. If this could somehow be able to adjust the angle of the legs so you can adjust them around your handguard, that would be ideal.
Pros:
- Stays out of the way of you handguard on shorter platforms (MDRX)
- Great constructions, solid stability
- quick detach is simple and easy to use, locking screw is nice to prevent accidental detach
- spring retract extensions are nice but loud (don't use while hunting)
Cons:
- Very wide legs (has to get around the handguard)
- weirdly enough I wish the legs had more give for applying back pressure when pressed forward
- folding is a little clunky but not bad, modification required to fold backwards
- bulky when retracted (no way around this as it has to go around the handguard)
Best Used for:
- range shooting with large platforms
