Most Helpful Positive Review Good piece
Excellent buy, compares well to Apex product, (I know as I have 5 Apex forearms), for 60% less. Sets up very quickly, no pesky gas tube alignment needed, comes with installation tool. Uber light, good hand feel, looks really great, gives a monolithic look to upper and forearm combo. Does get warm after a few hundred rounds, but who can afford to shoot a few hundred rounds? Well made in the USA. Try one Pros: fast setup, very sturdy, Cons: could use a longer add on rail

Great value

Love the look and feel. Easy setup and comes with everything you need to set it up. If you have a CMMG gas piston it will not fit. Don't know about some of the slimmer gas piston setups.
Pros:
  • GOOD FIT & A GOOD PRICE
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • PDW and Hunting

Sturdy and light

by Lord, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on August 18, 2024
The hand-guard feels sturdy and does not add weight to my ar pistol. Plus it comes with its own barrel nut which I was not expecting and 3 rails

Dimensions are off and it scratched the upper receiver installing it.

by Ryan, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on February 17, 2024
Dimensions were too narrow on the handguard where it meets the upper receiver. It scratched the upper while I was installing it and the aluminum on the handguard folded trying to get it on. I’m glad it’s cheap because I’m going to use it as filing practice before I toss it in the trash.
Pros:
  • Was light and slime
Cons:
  • Can not get it to install without modification.

Very nice hand guard

by kudude, from FL, United States Written on June 4, 2018
Bought this to replace a float tube on my wife's AR that was cruciform and very rough and uncomfortable to hold. This is smaller and smoother. Instruction booklet was very good (pictures!) and installation went well. Nice product. Delivery was timely. Gun shoots well with the new tube. Kudude
Pros:
  • good looking, light, and easy to install
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • improving accuracy on AR

Nice slim hand-guard

by Paladin, from WV, United States Written on April 24, 2018
So I bought this for a 7.5” barreled SBR. It was almost perfect, but ended up being about 7.25” long which interfered with my suppressor mount unfortunately. I was super disappointed I didn’t get to use this. The grip was nice and slim and the handguard as a whole was light, sturdy, and well machined. The mounting system is easy to get lined up as the location of the handguard is not dependent on clocking the barrel nut to an exact location to get it to line up. There’s actually a bushing that moves independent of the barrel nut that the handguard mounts too. Very well thought out.
Pros:
  • Easy install. Well engineered
Cons:
  • May get hot when doing mag dumps
Best Used for:
  • Competitive shooting, PDW style rifles

One of my favorite handguards

by Josh, from MI, United States Written on April 14, 2018
This is an excellent handguard for a great price. Is very solid feel and light weight. I have bought this in Fde and black. I have also bought the 15”, and 9” as well. It is one of my favorite style handguards as I do not attach a lot to my rifles anyways
Pros:
  • Light, very small diameter
Cons:
  • Proprietary rail sections

UTG pro hand guard

by Ken Lawson, Verified Owner from IN, United States Written on December 27, 2017
I have bought three of these hand guards after owning some other more expensive brands and they are better. I like the slim fit and the way it locks onto the upper to prevent roll. I also love that they a Cerakoted from the manufacturer. Very good product, plan to use for all my builds. Made in USA too!
Pros:
  • price, build, fit, made in USA
Cons:
  • None

Perfect for Ruger AR556

by WdsLaw, from AZ, United States Written on November 24, 2017
If you want a slim rail for the Ruger AR556 and you want to retain the front sight post then this is the one. It is a perfect fit. The screws even come with blue thread locker pre applied so that they don’t back out. I just fitted everything hand tight but values are provided if you have a torque wrench. I also recommend purchasing a forward grip because after a few mags at the range the rail will become hot to the touch. A grip should be easy to add because rail sections are included in the box. Shipping was fast and everything arrived as advertised. I would buy the rail again if I needed the same length. When I installed the rail I used a sight base to line the receiver up with the forearm by clamping one side to the receiver and one side to the rail. I suggest that you do the same as this is a quick way to line everything up correctly. The rail is marked with designators on the top which would be helpful if my Ruger was. An installation wrench was included but I just installed it using a standard AR 15 breakdown tool.
