Most Helpful Positive Review Amazing
Honestly, I didn't think much of it as it was a UTG product. The Pro series line is really impressing me. I was doing a build for a friend and purchased this because of price and now, I think I'll add this to my own build. very impressed with UTG, they stepped up their game. Pros: quality and feel

I was pleased with the quality of the MTU005, but the screw holes on the provided barrel nut were blocked by the upper receiver of my DPMS A-15. This prevented the screws that secure the quad rail to the barrel nut from entering the the holes in the barrel nut. I wasn't able to install the Quad Rail...

Great price & option

by Juan Wick, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on March 30, 2025
Picked up the 9 inch rail for a 10.5 Andro Corp upper. The barrel nut is quite thick regardless of if steel or aluminun, was impressed by the inclusion of anti-rotation tabs screws. The screws themselves aren’t great so likely best if you plan to install without switching to something else down the line. Only real complaint is that this left a small gap between the rail and receiver, a big drawback for some but small enough to not bother me. No issues at all after about 300rds, retained lock up
Pros:
  • anti-rotation tabs
  • solid mounting
  • Looks great , Easy installation
Cons:
  • cheap screws
  • Slight gap between upper and rail

Great hand guard

by Hotrod, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on March 8, 2025
Very strong , light weight looks great with a can tucked under . Only issue ……which is not really a big issue is it was a little bit difficult to put on, but I figured it out after a few minutes and it doesn’t go onto a side charging uppers as good as it would for a rear charging upper.
Pros:
  • Bad assery
Cons:
  • Need different mounting for a side charging AR
Best Used for:
  • Rear charging ARs

The best at it's price point, if your looking for a quad rail.

by For2nato, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on August 21, 2024
This handguard is well designed and easy to install. It looks great on the rifle. And is lighter than most other quad rails. The strongest thing about this is the price to quality ratio. There is much more quality than you are paying for. The last pro is that it is American made. Too many people don't give UTG their props on this little fact.

Now to the only con I could find. The mounting hardware is cheap and will strip if you torque them to anything that will hold the guard on through extended use. Two of the screws stripped the first time they were installed. One screw required the use of an EZ out. My advice is to not even use the screws that are included.
Here are the replacement sizes; 10-32x1", 10-32x1 ¹/⁴". Get stainless or phosphate socket cap screws and you'll be fine.

Honestly, the review would be 5 stars if the included hardware was better quality.

Tricky install

by Richard, from NC, United States Written on March 29, 2024
Overall great quad-rail. Installation was a bit different as I'm used to screw on rail systems however, I love the look and feel. I chose to use the rail covers that came with it because they are cheese graders little rough on the hands. Choose your gas block carefully or you will be installing it with the quad-rail on the rifle.

best handgqurd ive used

by channam, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on March 2, 2024
This is one of the most sturdy and light quad rail I’ve put my hands on. The qd swivel point is crisp and connects very good. The rubber covers that come with the rail is very grippy. It fits great with my vertical grip and actually made me rifle lighter. 10 out of 10 recommend
Pros:
  • light
  • Strong
  • fits well
Cons:

handguard good hardware not

by gldstnd, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on January 27, 2024
I mounted this to a 16-inch build. The handgaurd itself is of a good quality i like everything about it. However, the screws and hex wrench that came with it were not, the head were stripped be the wrench with minimal effort. And to almost completely round so that no size fits it anymore. My advice, buy the handgaurd, but get new hardware before install
