The finish on the mount was great. It did require some filing to fit the receiver cover area of my SKS, but this is pretty common. Once filed it fits snug. Mounted my Vortex optic and sighted just fine. No issues with deflecting rounds and protecting the mount and scope. Seems to hold zero well, but I'll be checking to see if this changes the more time spent shooting.

I was please when the mount arrived to update my older scope miunt that kept loosenening up. This scope is solid, mounting via the picatinny rail holds my scope steady as can be. Although you probably cannot use with stripper clips (havent tried, but it covers quite a bit), it works flawlessly with magazine fed setups.

The extra length provides more mounting options for scopes and protects the scope from ejected cases. It took some patience filing the tabs of the receiver cover and frequent trial fitting. Take down both prongs equally. I used a very good, small hand file with safe edges for the purpose. It fit snugly after I drifted in the locking pin. There seemed to be no need to use the clamping screws on the sides. It is a purposeful looking and well made bit of kit. Get one.

took it in to th elocal gun shop to be done and they did not feel comfortable putting it on to make it fit the found have to file on the gun but it seem to be a solid piece may be something on one or the other just isnt right

Mount seems to be well made, strong and sturdy.I have a 4x9x32 scope mounted to it and it is tight,no movement, nothing loose to rattle. Looks great mounted on the rifle as well.plenty of room to adjust or add optional laser and light and etc.I highly recommend and would purchase again.

I mounted this to my SKS to attach my laser. Everything bolted up great and my SKS is coming along nicely with the addition of a folding stock, an infrared laser and flashlight with an infrared filter to go along with my night vision goggles. With the addition of my bipod and eventually a muzzle brake that I've ordered, I can't wait to do a little late night coyote "viewing" here on our farm.

Firstly, the product: I think this is a great rail mount, even though it is a dust cover mount. If you follow directions, the installation is quick and easy to do. Again, by following directions, the dust cover is tight prior to using the side lockdown screws. The importance of the tight fit is to prevent all of the dust cover mount "naysayers" complaint of having to re zero after every cleaning. I also want to point out that the use of the long mount allows the installation of a reflex or holographic sight and a flip to side magnifier. I only wish there was a "bi rail" or "tri rail" option with the long center rail. This would allow installation of a light and laser too!

Secondly, Optics Planet: The price and free shipping were awesome. I researched this mount for several weeks. Optics Planet offered the mount for 10% below the competition! when including shipping cost!

Lastly, shipping: My only complaint is with UPS not Optics Planet. Since it was shipping UPS I provided my street address. The box gets all the way to within 35 miles of my house, then they swap to USPS. I do not have a mail box at the street address,. Animals, four legged and two legged, Along with winter snow plows, made the use of a street mailbox un-desirable. I only use a PO box for mail. This caused a problem at the USPS. We did finally track it down, but this delayed the package by 4 days, including the weekend.

This by far is the best SKS Mount I have ever tried. It does the job well. No issues. I highley recomened this mount to anyone with SKS looking to put a scope on their rifle. I would definitely by another if I get a second SKS. This mount was easy to put on and fit my Chinese Type 56 without any problems. Its made of good material and light in weight.
