Compact enough to fit in my wallet, my everyday multi tool choice is the Leatherman Squirt PS4. I carry it snuggly fitted into the left pocket of my wallet. Working at the airport, I must go through a security checkpoint. This makes my choices more limited. I have to follow TSA guidelines which allow you to carry tiny knives with you. The Squirt PS4 fits into those regulations. Priced at $20-25 depending on where you buy it can fit into many budgets. It has a total of nine tools: they are pliers that have both needle nose and standard grips and wire cutters, a knife, the world's smallest scissors, two flat head screw drivers one of which can be used in Phillips style heads, a file with a few different grits and a bottle opener. Weighing only two ounces and measuring two and a quarter inches closed it is the tiny package that can get the job done. I have used it to change car parts out on my Mazda sedan. The flat head and pliers were most useful for that task. The scissors are comically small but still can be used for precise small cutting tasks, for example cutting fishing line. The knife can be used for other cutting tasks and is insanely sharp out of the box. At the price point this is a really good deal and I would recommend that you go and buy one. I was surprised and impressed at the tasks I have been able to achieve with this tool.
