Geoff's Review of Hi-Lux Optics CMR Series 1-4x24 Rifle Scope
If you're like me you are probably trying to compare this to the Burris MTAC, Leupold AR, Vortex Viper, and any other number of the other 1-4x scopes. I've had the opportunity to look through those at local stores. I myself couldn't tell any difference between clarity of glass between any of them, they're all clear. Go see a youtube review on each one, they all have rave reviews with one or two minor things that the reviewer personally doesn't like. One of my favorite youtube personalities S00tch gave a good unbiased review of this that sold me on this one. The summary of that is that this scope is just as good as any of the others at nearly a hundred bucks less than the other more notable name brands. Also, I'm a real big fan of the donut/horseshoe reticle. If you look around, most of the higher end don't even have that as a reticle option. Why pay more for something you don't really want? I agree this scope is durable. I run this with a Burris PEPR mount on a SCAR 16 for action shooting. I'm pretty aggressive with dumping it into barrels, scope has been holding zero for several excursions.
I do agree with many of the reviews about this scope. Yes, illuminated reticle at max setting washes out easily in bright day light. I really don't use the illuminated reticle since all my shooting is in the day.
