Drew's Review of Hi-Lux Optics CMR4 1-4x24mm Rifle Scope w/ Illuminated CMR4 Ranging Reticle

Scanned around for an alternative to the Burris TAC30 that my cousin bought. Ended up with this. Can't say I made a bad choice. Glass is good, not as good as the Burris, but good regardless. Reticle is just sick. The tiny center dot makes long range precision an option with only a 4X scope. The illumination is busy and neat if you're into that (I am), and works well at night with a light. Have this on Sig M400 on a Burris PEPR mount. Its a heavy combo and makes a black rifle a lot more cumbersome, but thats the tradeoff for sticking a scope on an AR. Holds zero, very accurate. Had not shot it in a few months. Pulled it out this weekend and shot a 5 shot half inch group at 70yds. Pretty nice for 4X magnification on an AR-15. Its pricey, but so is everything else that is cool. If you don't mind dropping the cash, go for it. Its not a big name and doesn't have a ton of reviews, so my review is out here to try and let folks know that this scope isn't a $400+ gamble.

  • good glass

  • wicked busy illuminted reticle
Cons:
  • pricey, but you get what you pay for

  • having fun and owning somethign cooler than your friends
