I bought this from optic planet and absolutely love this! I have had a Bushnell trs-25 and vortex sparc 2' with that said this is how they compare 1st let me say the trs-25 is great and so is the sparc but the glass on the Bushnell is definitely colored and not as clear as the vortex or this high lu...

Exceptional product
I am very please with this optic. it is bright enough to use in direct sunlight and adjusts down for everything else. After researching all the reticle options I decided on the bulls eye with the small dot 1 moa) and the circle which I believe may be useful in ranging. Spare battery compartment nic...

I'm the guy who gets the bad ones-updated
Previously I gave this scope a less than stellar review, but Hi-Lux came through for me and sent me a brand new scope, even though my original purchase was past the warranty period. It's a great scope for the money and I am well pleased with it. Won't be blowing unnecessary cash on Aimpoints or Trijicons! Hi-Lux has impeccable customer support.

I'm that guy who gets the bad ones.
Got one in 2015 sat in safe for a year got it out and all it would do is flicker with new batts. Sent it back got a"new" one 948 digits newer than original purchase and it doesn't work either. Going to try again. The sun holosun is looking better for the money.

Electronic Problems after less than 1 year
I bought 2 of these sights, mounting 1 on an AR15. I fired approximately 600 rounds in 10 months with this sight which was never abused in any way. I took the gun from the safe one day and the dot would sputter, go on and off and the brightness adjustments would not work when it was on. New batteries did not solve the problem. Luckily this happened before one year because I soon discovered that the 'lifetime warranty' touted by Leatherwood for this sight only applies to the exterior and not to the electronics. Be aware that the warranty on electronics is only 1 year.
I sent the sight back to Hi-Lux and they returned it to me working but no explanations of any kind. I have not used it since as I no longer have confidence in it and will not use the other new one that I have either.
For the same money I recommend Vortex. I have several for quite a few years with no problems. For the battery life Aimpoint is the way to go.

A year and a half later.. In-op
As the title states, bought this sight about a year and a half ago. Went to the range and sighted it in with no problems. Put gun in safe until today when I took it back to the range. Sight has not been abused and only been fired on a 5.56 rifle.
Today at the range I could barely see the dot. Brightness adjustment would not go higher so I thought it was just the lighting conditions. Attempted to lower brightness to check and the sight shut off. Sight would not go on again until the "+" button was pressed about 6 times. Then when the "-" button is pressed the sight goes completely off. Essentially the brightness adjustment feature of my sight has been lost. Tried new batteries to no avail. Red dot also exhibits some flickering at this point.
Turns out Hi-Lux advertises a limited lifetime warranty but the ELECTRONICS of the sights are only warrantied for ONE YEAR. Thanks Hi- Lux, my sight is bricked but if my flip covers break you are right on it. The electronics are the heart of the device.

WOW - this thing is amazing....
If you have never owned a red dot sight, buy one immediately.... And, buy the Leatherwood Hi-Lux B Dot from OpticsPlanet...
I put this one on my new AR15 rifle and it's the most incredible sight I have ever used...
It has all the quality of the $800 sights with 1/4 the cost...
Service and selection from OpticsPlanet are top notch as usual....

Hi-Lux Micro Max B Dot
I've read a lot of good things about the Hi-Lux Micro Max B-Dot and the Vortex SPARC ll, so I bought both of them from Optics Planet. As always, shipping and service was outstanding. My wife wanted an American made sight on her rifle and chose the SPARC. After 500 rounds through both rifles I've found that both sights are high quality and hold their zero perfectly - far better performance than my EoTech, which constantly seems to have a drifting zero. The Hi-Lux Micro Max B Dot has a more illumination settings, has a narrower profile, a longer battery life (6+ years!) than the SPARC, but the mount has to be purchased separately. The SPARC comes with a variable height mount and has a better warranty. Oh, by the way, both sights have a “Made in China” label underneath.
From my viewpoint, I see no difference between the Micro Max B Dot and a law enforcement friend's Aimpoint T-1 and H-1.
The Hi-Lux Max Dot B is an outstanding unit. I'm ecstatic with the Hi-Lux Max Dot B – I plan on purchasing more of them without reservation.

Accurate and useful
I've buyed this red dot for hunting and i'm totaly satisfied with this. Easy to mount and use, the red dot is clear and accurate also the 10 lightning positions are very useful. If i have an other red dot to buy, i'll take the same.

It is a good product my DDI AK74
This is a well thought out design that fit well with my AK74. It gets the full potential out of the rifle for its probable use.
It is my first Red Dot. I would suggest this for other AK74 users when using a K-Var Scope Mount.
I was pleasantly surprised. Battery life although well advertised will demonstrate itself over time as will its durability.

Excellent red dot sight
This is a great sight for the money. have it mounted on my new Ruger M1 clone 10/22 rifle and it was a breeze to sight in. Excellent brightness control;. Always a great experience dealing with Optics Planet. Great price and fast shipping.

so far so good. This dot is great
the 2 MOA dot is alot smaller than my 3 MOA bushnell TRS-25. The dot is nice and small and very round, seems to hold zero ( I only have a limited number of rounds with it mounted on my budget .300 blackout build.) I dont own any high end red dots to compare it with, but all in all it seems to be a good buy.
