First time reloader
Because of the United States, and the crazy world we live in the supply on 9 mm bullets are scarce especially in North Louisiana. So I talked to a few reloaders in my network and decided to pull the trigger. Purchased the Lee 1000 pro progressive, don't have a whole lot to compare it to but it is awesome have cranked out about 1,200 rounds and have shot half of them. I have and will definitely recommended this item. For me this is a great purchase!!!!

I did tons of research online before buying this model, and it is as finicky as everyone says it is. Be prepared to take your time to setup this unit.
My biggest tips:
1. Get a riser so you do not have to take off your dies to get powder charge off.
2. Get a charge bar, the discs just were not accurate enough for me
3. Clean machine thoroughly before use (videos on the net)
4. Sand and wax primer feed (videos on the net) you will thank me for this
5. I upgraded charger to spring loaded setup, did not care for the chain.
6. Lube all parts of charger with graphite, it WILL hang up on you if you do not
7. I ordered a 3DPrinted last stage ejector too because the little bar is terrible
8. Do not lube with grease, lube with light coat of oil VERY light. I mean just a bit shiny (under shell plate, and shaft)
After about 9 hours of setup and about 10 messed up rounds, I have it producing 9mm at about 60 rounds per hour (this is me taking my time), you will find a rhythm that works with this machine.
Also, if you want to do different calibers (in my case .45ACP), you are going to need to buy a new shell plate, dies (already had), and if you use the shell feeder, will need a large shell feeder.
All in all, great machine once you figure out the quirks, in my opinion this is not a setup for a new re-loader. I started with the single stage press before graduating to this one.
One more thing I would like to add... it would be nice if this had 4 holes, as I crimp all my rounds....

Lee pro 1000
Kind of difficult to set up and get going but once it goes and starts working it works great I just need to keep an eye on primers being feed correctly and placing bullets in place then it’s just a matter of keeping everything full and pulling the handle mine works great!Probably would work best for some for somebody with some modest reloading experience
Pros:
- Makes lots Ammo
Cons:
- set up
- Set up time
