Most Helpful Positive Review Great binoculars
Easy to carry, so they actually get used. Sharp, clear view. Have never fogged up, had seen that with other binocs I have owned. I only wish the focus knob was a bit bigger, but not a huge issue. I recommend these !

Leitz Rules at Life

by opticsenthusiast, from MA, United States Written on November 7, 2018
I have two pairs of Leica binoculars, the 8x32 Ultravid and these 10x25 Trinovids. Both are a pleasure to look through, an extension of your eyes that amount to a kind of super power. I find myself looking for excuses to use them. You can be sitting in an airport and you don't need to walk over to read the flight monitors, if you just reach for the binoculars. The Ultravids were about $2,500, and the Trinovids about â…• that price. The Trinovids are noticeably dimmer because of their smaller size, but they are the ones I keep with me because they fit in your pocket or briefcase. Apparently the Ultravids are more durable if you plan to tramp through rain forests, which I never do. It's more like I take them to the opera or use them for building inspections. IMHO the choice amounts to one of brightness versus size, because the image quality is superb in both cases. Sharp and easy to focus. No blue fringing or haze, and you can practically look straight into the sun without glare. Also bought a pair of Zeiss Conquests for my dad and tried them out. They are quite good too, if you want a larger diameter without paying quite so much.
Pros:
  • Ease of use
  • Superb quality
  • Portability
  • affordable compared with larger Leica models
Cons:
  • Expensive compared with lesser brands
Best Used for:
  • opera, tourism, reading flight monitors without leaving your seat
  • not for prolonged low-light observations

good small light binocular

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on April 30, 2011
It's easy to carry, especially when going hiking, climbing, even bird watching and other wildlife observation. Because it's small light and good quality, I like to take it out most.
