Pricey Yes, But What Incredible Quality and Function!

I purchased these Leica 10x50 Trinovids from Optics Planet to partner-up with my Leica 1200 LRF. They arrived in short-order from Optics Planet, while I was living in Germany where I regularly hunted wild boar at night. This purchase replaced a pair of other German brand name, mid-price range 8x56 binoculars ($800). Those 8x56 gave an exit pupil of 7 which is as good as it gets for night use, yet these 10x50s with an exit pupil of 5 outperformed my previous set for one reason, twilight factor. It was unbelievable clarity even during nights with only starlight and no moon. Because of the glass quality, I could discern details on boar, size, sex and age from 100 meters distant in zero moon illumination. After moving back to the States, I took these 10x50s on a Colorado elk hunt, and my only complaint is the weight; if you buy a pair of these also get the shoulder sling at the same time. I used a zip-tie to retain the eyepiece cover solidly on the strap, and purchased rifle scope covers for the objective lenses. These superior binos feel great in the hand, the twist-out eye cups are comfortable with or without my glasses, and the focus wheel and the locking acuity device is solid once set. I've washed them in the sink following hunting trips....there just isn't enough space here to say all of the good things about these binos, and I couldn't begin to describe the quality of the optic view.
