I didn't realize the range button was on the left until I had them in my hands, I prefer it on the right. Other than that great optics! I waited a very long time to own these because of the price, I am looking into the higher end style w/ballistic SD card Lieca offers, possibly upgrade again.

I have the Leica GeoVid 3200.com binoculars and rangefinder. This is the first hunting season used it, and I have an issue with the rangefinder. Over the last weekend, I was hunting, and it would not provide any readout on range. This is a big issue because we were hunting elk at several hundred meters away. The range would simply just blink and then go off, not providing any range. They are working correctly again, but not when I needed them. This was my Leica’s first season, and I am a bit disappointed in their reliability. I am wondering if I have a defective product. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.
Pros:
heavy
Cons:
Over priced and not reliable.

I bought these binoculars for my son who is a member of a specialized infantry unit in the U.S. Military. The members in his unit have stated that these binoculars are a great asset to their units performance in the field and that the quality is second to none. These soldiers train in extreme environments so their statement on these binoculars speaks volumes.

I purchased these Leica Geovid 10x42mm Rangefinder binoculars around 15 years ago for around $3K The price now has come down a ton since then. They have been worth every penny over the years. I did have a major drop with them about seven years ago and sent them back and they repaired them back to new for NO CHARGE! My weakness is for high end optics and you are not going to get anything better. I own all kinds of optics from Nikon, Vortex, Leopold, Steiner, and even Swarovski, you will not find a better set of glasses for less than $2K. A good rule of thumb is that you pretty much get what you pay for with optics.
On the negative end I do with they had the lens covers like the Steiner's have, the button to use the laser rangefinder would be nice if it were on the right side. I also like how the Steiner's use the rubber eye shades. I have lost a few protective lens covers over the years but have managed to keep the lens free from scratches.
I would buy these again, great customer service, outstanding quality.

I have had them three years so far and drug them all over up and down steep cliffs getting knocked around. Most recently came back from high country using these 10x42mm in conjunction with Vortex 20-60x85mm Razor HD spotting scope. The Leica’s clarity puts the Razor to shame (still a good spotter for the price). My only beef is the cover piece that goes over the ranging laser (don’t know what to call it, wish I could upload a photo) all the sudden is gone?! I realize all mechanical items brake, but this is something that should have been lock-tighted down as I can see there is only one row of screw threads. Didn’t even know that it screwed on and off. I have continued to using them for hunting and at work (Police). Also the objective lens covers are junk. For the price I paid for these binos I want something that will stay on my binos. My hunt last year while going up and down steep mountains sliding down shale, being focused on not getting hurt and my bow...somewhere along the way objective lens covers vanished and I ended up getting a scratch on one of the objective lenses. I guess I’ll put a spot of super glue on each rubber ring to the actual binos next time. With all that said, AMAZING optics! I bought them at the $1300 price tag three years ago. Sad to see they’ve gone up so much. Clarity lS AMAZING for the price, very little eye strain compared to other binos. They’ve gotten knocked around and still each barrel is aligned to one another. I would definitely buy again...
