Simple - Works great!
My Leica 2400R is simple to operate, very user friendly, and it does exactly what a rangefinder is supposed to do, only without all of the bells and whistles. Namely, give an accurate reading on elk at ranges beyond a thousand yards, and large inanimate objects at two thousand yds. With this rangefinder, I can know if an animal is on a section I can hunt on, without walking within range of the animal. It saves lots of time and lots of boot leather. Powerful, accurate, not intuitive
Wow. This thing is light-years ahead of my old Vortex Ranger 1300. The Vortex wouldn't range past 800 in perfect conditions. With this Leica 2400 I'm hitting trees at 2200 yards standing, free handed. I have little doubt this thing will range past the stated 2400 yards if I let it. It's fast and precise BUT the buttons and readouts are super user friendly at first. It'll take me time to get really good with it but in one outing I was already fairly comfortable.

Powerful, Light, Compact
Really impressed that Leica managed to put such a robust ranging engine in a light and compact housing.
Easy to use once setup but setup does require the manual.
Clear image, powerful ranging laser, ergonomic controls, and super accurate. The 7x magnification is really helpful when pushing this device to its technical limit.
I was a little skeptical of the ambient light sensor from my experience with red dots but i could not find a condition where the display was hard to see or even not visible.
Overall this is a very sophisticated rangefinder packaged into a light, compact, easy to use product.
