Most Helpful Positive Review Leupold Olympic Binoculars 10X
These are the best pair of binoculars I have ever owned. They are also the first pair of roof prism binoculars I have ever owned. They are lightweight and relatively small considering the 50mm objective lenses. Excellent clairity and plenty of magnification. I compared them to a pair of Swarovski's of similar size and power and they are not quite as good as the Swarovski. But then again, they are about 1/8th to 1/10th the price. The camo pattern and coating on the binoculars appears to be very durable as they have shown no wear yet. The spin up/spin down eyecups allow you to use the bino...

Great Optics

by XY-B, from Namibia Written on August 7, 2014
Purchased the 10x50 Leupold Olympic bino's two years ago. As I use the bino's mostly for wildlife observation in the African bush at dawn and dusk, the large objective lens (50mm) performs well in the low light conditions. I am impressed with the clear, sharp and bright optical quality, the fast focusing ability and the light weight. Even eye fatigue is minimal after long periods of use.
If hand-held, I experience a slight shake/vibration at long distance. This must be attributed to my age and less steady hands, as the weight or seize of the bino's are not a factor.
The close focus distance is excellent and practical to observe smaller objects or wildlife (birds) from a hide.
I can only concur with the observations and remarks of other reviewers regarding the lens caps and in particular the objective covers. Not only is it annoying and a nuisance when out in the bush with photographic equipment, etc. but a concern that the lenses get dusty or scratched. Hope Leupold will address this issue in the near future. Although the bino's are manufactured in China, I have to date not experienced any mechanical/quality problems. With the life time warranty and Leupold's outstanding service and customer care record, possible problems should be dealt with satisfactory.
In conclusion – impressive optical quality and value for money. Take a serious look at Leupold's 10x50 Olympic bino's when considering to acquire new/additional optics – you'll be impressed.

Wow! Exceded already High Expectations

by Jim K, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on August 15, 2011
As a Navy and Marine Corps veteran and lifetime outdoorsman, photographer and hunter, these are the best binoculars I've ever used. I own 8 Canon 'L' Series lenses for my 7D, and I have a pretty good idea of wha 'great glass' is and isn't. Leupold gave me 'Great Glass' in these 10x50 Olympics in Camo! After dusk, my 59 year old eyes couldn't see much, but with these glasses I spent an additional almost 10 minutes watching a Bald Eagle atop a tall Cypress tree across a field some 250 meters away surveying the lake behind us for a last meal tonight. H looked close enough to touch. I could see feathers in some detail! I could se ehim turn his head from side to side and could see his eyes as they paused on me and then went back to searching. Hand holding was doable with some elbow bracing on my body, but that was due to the magnification and not the weight. I wished I'd gotten the tripod mount I just ordered and I'd still be watching that bird! I'm not a 'birder', but I can see where a birder would love these too! In brushy shadows around the lake up to 300 yeards away, these really do make late dusk as bright as 30 minutes earlier, and allow some real detail for hunting early or late. I bought these as an upgrade to some Nikons for a trip in the Navion to the Grand Canyon next month, and WHAT an UPGRADE! I've used Leupold (and Nikon) scopes on guns and pistols before, so I expected a lot, .... and I got alot more than I expected. That being said, objective lens caps need upgrad...

Just what I needed for Elk Hunting Binocs...

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on December 30, 2010
I have another set of Leupold Binocs I've used for Elk Glassing for years but wanted a bit more magnification and larger objective for low light. These fit the bill perfectly with low weight, large objective, easy focus, clear glass and adjustability. Just consider using a rest or bipod when long range glassing to help steady them and lessen the strain on your eyes.
Pros: Light, very clear glass, good magnification
Cons: A bit touchy to use without using a rest to steady at long ranges

Carlton

I hunt, hike and explore all over the United States. These binoculars exceed my expectations in clarity, design, weight and value. You could spend 3 times as much and be 3 times as broke. Take the money you saved, use it on a trip and "get back out there"
Pros: The best there is for the cost
Cons: Only that I wish I would have found them sooner

A HUNTER'S APPROVAL

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on December 2, 2009
These are the best binoc's I've ever owned, and I have never purchased a cheap pair in my life.I have used these extensively for hunting Whitetail deer and couldn't believe how early or late I was able to watch deer in low light conditions.I found them easy to focus at any distance with excellant clarity and magnification. I wear these around my neck with the supplied neck strap while hunting and found them to be light weight, comfortable, and with zero neck fatigue. Leupold's reputation is reinforced with this being another quality product. I assure you, you will not be dissappointed with these binoc's.
Pros: Price,size, quality, weight
Cons: The only negitive I found was the loose lens caps. They need to have a tighter fit, and/or attached.
