Most Helpful Positive Review Perfect Scope with Bushnell Advanced Titanium Tripod
Great one time "life time" purchase. Cudos to OpticsPlanet Technical Staff who helped me select the right tripod. Highly recommend purchasing the Bushnell Advanced Titanium Tripod along with the Leupold Ventana scope if you will use the Ventana while standing or as a multi-purpose scope. Tripod has...

Outstanding Scope

by Glockman, from TN, United States Written on November 19, 2017
I recently purchased this scope along with a Bushnell Titanium Tripod from Optics Planet. My budget was $1,000.00, I spent approx. $535.00 for the two items. I was looking for a scope that could spot .223 hits at 200-yards. I also purchased blue splatter targets from Big Dog Targets which enhanced the .223 hits with an orange background. This combination worked excellent. The optics of the Leupold scope was clear and crisp, no distortion. Although we were shooting at 200 yards I since used the scope to spot targets out to 500-yards. Not sure what the limitations of this scope is, but I feel certain that with the correct sized splatter target, 300-yards should be doable. I'd recommend this package to my family and friends with full confidence.
Pros:
  • Excellent Carrying Case
Cons:
  • Table Top Tripod is a little weak
Best Used for:
  • bench shooting

Typical Leupold

by BowDoc, from CA, United States Written on May 23, 2016
I went from store to store looking at various spotting scopes before deciding which one to purchase . For the money this has been a great scope so far ! I own many optics , some Leupold , some Swarovski , and many others . Is this scope up to par with a Swarovski ? No , but it was also a fraction of what a Swarovski costs and is working superb for what I bought it for . The clarity is what you would expect from a Leupold , crisp , clean and clear . I spent a little extra to put it on a really good tri-pod and am glad I did . If you put it on a window mount , and are looking long distance , you will probably need to shut the vehicle off to get the performance this scope is capable of providing . All in all , I am very pleased with this scope, this purchase and Optics Planet .
Pros:
  • Excellent value
Cons:
  • None that I have seen so far
Best Used for:
  • wildlife viewing

This is the most "un"Leupold product I have ever seen

by DLField58, from NE, United States Written on April 22, 2016
Everything about this feels cheap. The tripod is total dung.(unfriendly language in first attempt!) The carrying case is decent but flimsy. Optics are just ok out to 200 yds or so. My intentions were to use this at distances much farther out but because it is just okay at 200 I suspect it will be real stinky dung at 600 and beyond. I'm really feeling like this is a knock off as I've never seen/owned anything from Leopold that wasn't excellent.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Tripod sucks

Leupold 20 - 60 x 80 SX1 Ventana Angled Spotting Scope

by Garnett 169, from OK, United States Written on March 16, 2016
I bought this scope on sale on a recommendation of the folks at Optics Planet. Great Scope although it is very large. Good clear picture and easy to adjust. Very good value for the features. Due to it's size I wouldn't recommend it for the field.
Pros:
  • Clarity/brightness is outstanding
Cons:
  • sizes run a little large
Best Used for:
  • range work, not tactical

Leupold Ventana Spotting Scope

by Long Range Remington, from WA, United States Written on January 20, 2016
This is my eighth Leupold product in 25 years. Its rates beside all of its sister products as a Rugged, Clear Dependable piece of glass. I own other optic products with "No questions asked warranty's". the difference between the other products and Leupold is the clarity, light gathering, very consistent high quality and the warranty offered by Leupold never had to be used. The other products I own have needed warranty attention to each item. The only negative point would be the weight, awkward shape and size to put into a pack that you will experience with the most other brands as well. All in all its a nice addition to my long range hunting kit.

Great Scope for the Money

by Darren, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on December 12, 2015
I bought the Leupold 20 -60 x 80 SX1 Ventana n mid-November 2015. Great scope for shooting at 100 to 200 yards. Clear high quality optics. Very good for the price point. I also bought a cellphone adapter at Phoneskope to take pictures and video. Great hard case. Tripod is a little cheap.
Pros:
  • High Quality. Very Sturdy.
Cons:
  • Tripod sucks

flawed design

by hb9z, from VA, United States Written on August 30, 2015
bought this scope and I got chested by the brand name that I hoped would have a sturdy design that would be weather proof as caged in nylon and angled that I would use in my competitions as shooter in prone and standing position, well, 1 year later after 2-3 X use per month, the eye piece part broke off from the body showing me the internals. its held off by small screws that was connecting the 2 pieces, this is a flawed design that should have been better engineered....I guess you get what you pay for .... but this was not a low cheapo scope....

Bang for you buck

by S, from AR, United States Written on August 23, 2015
I hunt on 40 acres and found that I needed a spotting scope. Works well and is precise at the range at 100yard. I was looking for a budget spotting scope and this fit my need. This was the best bang for your buck when compared to other brand. I looked at Vortex as well. Both offer good warranty but this was cheaper.
Pros:
  • lightweight, precise
  • priced well
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Range/Tactical/Hunting

Ventana spotting scope review

by Firemedic, from IA, United States Written on July 25, 2015
It is very well built and is everything that I wanted I would recommend this item to buy. I use it at the range and I can easily see out to 200 yards and make out the hits on the target it gives me more time shooting rather than walking back and forth.
