3/8" high rings on new ruger american rimfire - Leupold RM Rimfire No Tap Rings

I have had good experiences with Leupold rungs in the past, and bought a set of 3/8" high rings to mount to the 3/8" dovetail mount on a Ruger American Rimfire rifle. However, the receiver is shaped in such a way that the arch of the receiver above the dovetail is just slightly too much to accommodate these rings.

Ultimately, I feel like this is Ruger's fault for claiming that standard 3/8" dovetail rings would fit, but not machining their receiver to actually work with standard rings.

Leupold's 3/8" dovetail rings will not work with the Ruger American Rimfire.
