Leupold bolt action two piece scope rings
The rings look good, but I have an older Savage model 10 that has the flat top receiver. These scope rings will not fit the older model 10, and I'm having problems finding the correct scope mounts.
I'm just trying to go from 1 inch scope to new Leupold 30mm scope.
Savage changed to a rounded receiver years back. I'm not sure how long ago, but I've had this rifle for many years.

Leupold Backcountry Scope Mount
Wanted a solid base mount for my new Savage Timberline. The Backcountry mounts were exactly what I was looking for. Installed and mounted the scope. Bore sited and hardly had to make any adjustments. Very solid mount.

Rifle Rings
I wanted a set of rings that I did not have multiple screw connections. The Leupold Backcountry bases and rings were the ticket. Bolts directly to the receiver. No second set of screws for your rings. 4 screw rings to take care of heavy recoil. Awesome product.
Pros:
- Solid and precise
Cons:
- None
Would recommend: Yes
Light weight sturdy mounts.
The screws that came with the mounts are all 8-40 and Proper lengths. However the Savage 110 “Hunter” requires 6-48 screws and I had to order them to mount the rings. The other versions of the 110 probably use 8-40 screws (I don’t know). Including 4 screws of each size and thread would have gotten a 5 star from me. Mounted a Vortex Viper GEN II PST 3-15x44 with success. Great mounts I recommend them.
Pros:
- Light weight and sturdy
Cons:
- Wrong screw size for the Savage 110 Hunter
Would recommend: Yes
Light weight rock solid mounts
Looking for a rock solid light weight mount this is it. Mounted it to a savage 110 ultra light and wanted to keep it light for a elk hunt and this did the job well . After mountains and range time I’ve had absolutely no issues. Keeps scope locked down like you hope.
Pros:
- light weight
Cons:
- Strength
Best Used for:
- Elk riffles
Would recommend: Yes
