Pretty good. low light not so good. - Leupold BX-1 Rogue 10x25mm Porro Prism Compact Waterproof Binoculars

used these on a 3 week elk hunt on the coast range. For a budget bino (sub $200) they aren't bad. There a probably better options out there. My main gripes were they are terrible in low light. pretty much had to wait for the sun to come up before you could see anything, which for the coast range elk is pretty much a fail. (the animals are nearly back in the woods by that time).Evening time was the same. I had better luck looing through my $200 Bushnell scope with a 44mm objective. the rogues don't have exactly the clearest glass. they fogged on a few occasion at the worst of times. it's the coast tho so it's hard for anything not to fog. Also, the focus wheel had a fair amount of play in it making focusing tedious at times. Also, plenty of eye strain at the end of the day and I have 20/20 vision. I guess these are all things that are expected at this price point. overall I feel like you may be able to find better binos for the money with some research. Yes they are Leupolds, but don't expect magic from them. they are the Lowest end of Leopold price point. you may be paying more for the name and warranty than the actual glass with these..?
