Most Helpful Positive Review Leupold BX-3 Mojave Pro Guide 8X42mm Binocs.
Light and easy to carry and use. Crystal clear HD optics. 8X42mm makes viewing targets fast and easy to acquire. I use stabilized 14X40 Nikons on my boat and needed a pair of lower power binocs for general use and I'm not sorry I opted for the BX-3's. Large exit pupil makes them great for use on the ocean. Great Leupold Gold Ring quality. I highly recommend these binocs.

Great Product

I purchased two pair of these binoculars from Optics Planet. They rival any Zeiss that's twice the price. They are made in Japan as opposed to most Leupold products, but quality is no issue. These are great. Get your hands on these as they are discontinued by L&S.
Pros:
  • Optical clarity
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • hunting

Excellent Glass, Stiff focus knob, Poor fit & finish

by Max Power, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on April 18, 2017
I bought these to replace my old Nikon Monarch 3 8x42 binoculars. Upon receiving them, I was very impressed with the optical quality. The optics were much much better than the Monarch 3. I looked at a bird in my backyard it was impressed with the clear, crisp image. As I used the binoculars right after receiving them, I began to notice how stiff the focus tension is. It took quite a bit of effort to turn the focus knob, which makes fine focus adjustments difficult. I have now read that some Leupold binoculars have this issue, which is considered a quality control problem. Also, the locking diopter is made of plastic and feels flimsy. I get the idea the diopter adjustment would break at some point. Because of the stiff focus knob, I promptly returned the Mojave. I am undecided if I should order a replacement pair in hopes that it has a smooth focus and not a stiff one.
Pros:
  • image quality
Cons:
  • Focus wheel was too stiff
Would recommend: No
