I prefer a handle adjustment on a window mount. The handle gives you presise control when centering on your subject. There is a huge difference between this window mount and the cheaper $25-$40 options and I believe it’s worth it. Very solidly build with metal components (not cheap plastic like other options) and comes with a great carry case. This is a excellent buy and worth the extra dollars and should be a piece of gear that all diehard Outdoorsmen should own. The quick snap base plate makes sure your spotting scope, binos, camera is secured quickly by automatically locking in place once the plate has been placed on the mount. Highly recommend.

Sloppy Quick Mount

Agree with the ball socket not be very friendly, but my worst complaint is how sloppy the quick connect is. Its not just symptomatic of the window mount, but it interchanges into the tri-pod and is sloppy there as well.

I have emailed Leupold and no response yet. Other fix may be building up the scope quick mount base with some duct tape or something else, then the tri-pod or window mount may lock tighter onto the scope.
