I bought this for my Muzzleloader which seems to get used most right at dusk during the late season. So the primary purpose of the purchase was for the brightest scope in those conditions. For me unfortunately, there is not a noticeable difference in brightness at dusk over the VX-3 like I had hoped. The LR reticle is an excellent low light reticle. It is more than heavy enough to see at last light. The anodize on the turret cap was blotchy on mine but Leupold sent a replacement. All in it's a nice scope, but I would probably not choose the Fixed power over a Variable in the future.
