Built a rem 700 ultra lightweight mountain rifle for my area (south central Alaska) in 260 rem. I was hesitant to go with power as low as 2.5 but it's been great. Extremely versatile for shots from 0-300. My only critique would be the field of view seems to be about 75% of the range you would expect from a short low power scope.
