My favorite
This is my favorite optic of all time! I'm not a gun pro or a hunter that travels the world while stacking up the trophies but I am an avid deer hunter. Our deer season here in Louisiana is a relatively long one and I make it to the woods as often as possible. I bought my first rifle by mowing lawns...

No Tick Mark to Reference for Dial Indication, Grease On Scope Body
For the price of this scope, I expect windage and elevation adjustment dials that precisely reference a tick mark on the scope body itself. Instead, you get dials that don't even have an obvious tick for 0 and nothing on the scope body itself as a point of reference as to where you are in the dial r...

A great compact lightweight scope
Clarity is awesome, especially early morning and dusk. For the price this unit is very competitive with much higher priced scopes. Point of impact is spot on at all power settings. Will take a few seasons to see how it holds up in the field. Leupold quality has never disappointed me.
Pros:
- Love the way it's smaller profile looks on my Tika .270.
Cons:
- None

Leupold VX-3i 2.5-8X36mm Rifle Scope (PN 170678)
This is my first Leupold scope. The optics are as great as everyone says in the reviews on the internet. Plenty of eye relief to prevent getting a black eye when using with larger caliber rifles. It is a great scope in every way except one - it does not include an indicator ring on the elevation/windage turrets to show if you have adjusted beyond a full turn. Leupold doesn't mention this anywhere that I could find in their literature. If you don't intend to shoot out beyond 60 clicks on your turrets, I guess it is not a problem. With this being an 8X max scope, I probably won't be attempting anything out beyond a full rev on the elevation turret anyway, so should work fine for me. (I got this scope on sale for a really good price; however, if I had paid full price, I would have considered returning it since this aspect was not clearly defined in their literature. Again, for an 8X scope, it may not be a big deal unless you plan to push it out beyond 400 yards - depending on the ballistics involved.)
Pros:
- Leupold Quality
- light weight
- Great Optics Clarity
Cons:
- No Indicator Ring on Elev Turret
Best Used for:
- Hunting to 300 Yards

2.5x8x36 VX 3
Have several. Best all around scope for under 400 yards. Works on everything , levers , single shots, pumps , shotguns. Never felt underscored and it’s smaller and light. Great product. Clarity is superb along with the resolution. Can also get with the BC reticle. Leupold delivers promises.

Very nice scope
I bought an earlier version of this scope about 40 years ago. I have always really liked the optics, especially field of view and non-critical eye relief. Unfortunately I dropped my rifle and scope and broke the scope. I finally bought this one to replace it on a different rifle. I have yet to sight it in, but again optical clarity and non-criticality of eye relief are outstanding

Some things never change
I have been buying Leupold Scopes for 30 years, this could be my favorite. Very high quality, fantastic adjustment, it was easy to site in and you can tell the quality of the mechanisms by how the turrets felt when adjusting. I can' imagine it could be better.
Pros:
- Quality
Cons:
- None at this point
Best Used for:
- hunting

Hunting scope
I purchased this scope to put on a Ruger #1 for the long eye relief. The eye relief is especially important on these rifles because of the ring placement on the one quarter rib on these rifles. Even with off set rings a scope with longer eye relief is needed. I would buy another for another #1 I own but this scope is no longer made. I think that will prove to be a mistake.
Pros:
- Longer eye relief
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- hunting

Montana hunter
Leupold vx3i is an excellent optics for the money the ice cream is the lifetime warranty that many others are doing now. That tells me that they are following the best . I own 9 leupold and 1 fell out of a scabbard one year and landed hard was still ready to go.
Pros:
- Glass clarity
Cons:
- None

Excellent Scope
I bought this for my uncle because he was wanting something that was better then he was. This sure out did his expectations. This thing is clear as a crystal and the perfect scope for someone/something that you are wanting to shoot midrange. I love the VX-3's, they are excellent quality and I wouldn't own anything different.

Leupold vx 3 2.5 x 8
Very rugged, mounted on a 45 70 and handles the recoil with no issues. glass is very clear even in low light. Good eye relief, have used for both deer and Hog hunting in low light. I now have two of these scopes mounted on 45-70 rifles.

Great Scope
For the money you can't beat this scope!! Glass is clear and has good visibility at twilight. Plenty of eye relief for just about any mounting position that the scope is designed for. I have tried several different scope makers but always come back to Leupold.
