I can see this thermal being great for tracking, but I am not sure since I did not try and use it for that. It does have a very clear picture but for me to use it to spot coyotes coming in at 75+ yards away the display appears to small. I have used other handheld units where you look through the eyepiece and the view appears to be considerably larger. It could be my 48yo eyes too I guess. This one is just not for me.
Pros:
- very clear picture
Cons:
- image too small. if the animal a coyote is 60 yards away in tall grass, you may or may not see a small spot

- Tracking
