Five stars to Leupold LTO Tracker. Very nice price for this quality. Fully satisfied with imagine quality and identifying distance. You can detect human out for 300 yards. Battery life is around 5-7 hours. The best purchase for hunting.

Bought this to look for critters lurking in the woods behind my house...check. Discovered that it can see studs behind drywall and siding...bonus. Might be able to see the moles in the yard...too late for the one the trap got, but maybe next time. This thing sees temperature differences in light or night...I'm impressed. I see this as a gateway to putting a thermal scope on a rifle in the near future, because as a tracker, this device works pretty good based on my non-hunting observations.
Cons:
- Not a firearm-mountable device...or is it?
Best Used for:
- Tracking lost game, or just looking for critters in the night.

Although I have not actually got to track with this yet, I have been very impressed. I’m hunting in thick woods so the distance is limited by large trees. But it has no problem pushing through light brush and undergrowth. I was able to see two deer coming in to my stand at dark. So it was nice to be able to wait till they passed before I got down. I would have spooked them for sure without the lto. Animals facing you are a little harder to see if your not scanning slowly, but if there standing sideways you can’t miss them. I even spotted a rabbit passing through about 75 yards out, again I am in thick N.C. woods so it’s impressive. I have no doubts that this will be a great way to find down game if rain has washed a blood trail away. I’m guessing 80-100 yards away it will be glowing like the sun. In an open field much farther and it can see right through taller grass (3-4 feet). Was even able to see where a deer had bedded down just from the heat it left. Iv only lost 3 deer in my 20+ years of hunting but I’m guessing with this that number will stay at 3. The only bad thing is the click it makes when the screen refreshes. It is not loud at all and I’m hoping I’m only noticing because it’s right near my ear. It didn’t bother a few small bucks underneath my stand, so that’s just me being super picky.
Pros:
- Very impressive for the money
Cons:
- Makes a clicking noise when it refreshes

Haven't used it for tracking (yet), but can certainly see the utility of this monocular device. Very easy to use, clear imaging, very compact and easy to pack in vest, pocket or on lanyard. Optics Planet was great in terms of easy to order, responsive communications and quick delivery. Very happy with the purchase at all levels.

Bought this thermal for coyote hunting. It does pick up heat well out to about 100 yards. My only complaint is that the back lighting from the ocular lens will reveal your position. I would not recommend using this for any operation where you are trying to remain concealed...

I bought the lto quest and was not happy with the performance so I returned it and tried the lto tracker. I used it for about a week on coyote hunts. I could see them at about 200 yards but couldn’t tell what it was. Not bad for what I wanted it for though. After a lot of thinking and testing I just couldn’t justify the money it costs and returned it. I then took my chances on the LTO HD from OpticsPlanet since it was on sale and... yep. This ones a keeper. I can detect at 250 yards and probably further but the area I’ve been using it is that far to the wood line. At that distance I can tell if it’s a deer or a coyote and obviously the closer it is the more defined things become. Zoom is not really worth using. I tend to leave it on 1.3x. The quality is great. I can spot my horses in the pasture while I’m 100+ yards into the woods so it def detects well. A lot of people have issues with the backlight illuminating your face. It’s not an issue. There isn’t much literature included with the device (or a lanyard, case, caps or anything for that matter) but I’ve learned that if you hold the color mode button down it brings up the brightness adjustment. What a great find. All in all this thing is a win. You can comfortably scan large fields and when you get a blip you just put it away and bust out the xsight 4K pro to handle the situation appropriately. Fun fun fun

I wasn't sure how this was going to turn out, considering my less than great experience using FLIR scopes. However, I can say that the size of this product, the solid construction, and clarity of viewing is remarkable. Thermal products will be spendy, but for the price point this is a solid choice.

Overall happy with tracker hd, can spot animals over 500 yards away in fields. Clearcut are harder because stumps are warm also and show heat but movement will show.wirks well for tracking a downed animal.works well in light or dark.
Pros:
- Ease of use, can be used on scat and to check bedding areas
Best Used for:
- Open fields day or night & tracking downed animal
