Legacy Reviewer's Review of Leupold Mark 4 1-3x14mm CQ/T Rifle Scope
Here are the quick points:
My biases:
I am a lefty.
I prefer to spend money on American made and OWNED products/companies.
I want the best product for the application and cost is secondary.
The Pros:
Small turret profile
Waterproof
Bright and highly adjustable reticle
Good clear glass
Lifetime unconditional warranty
The Cons:
No symmetric rail on left side of scope
No available flash-kill available
From my experience it is NOT a true 1 x power
On/off adjustment knob is plastic and feels cheep
3 x max magnification is limiting
Confined to 5.56 AR application
The price
Conclusion:
It is difficult for me to recommend this scope when it doesn't do any one job really well.
A red dot or halografic sight is far better for quick acquisition and with their associated 3 x magnification would put this scope to shame. Additionally, most any ACOG by comparison, even without the adjustable magnification is on a whole other level.
Pros: It's a Leupold Mark 4,
Cons: It's not a true 1 X magnification, plastic on/off switch, price, ...
