ed's Review of Leupold Mark 6 3-18x44mm First Focal Rifle Scope

I own five or six Leupold scopes with several being forty plus years old. Have not had problems with any of them. I first purchased a leupold in 1972 comparing it to all the top line scopes of that time period. It was sighted in on a Ruger M77 rifle and to this day shoot 1 1/4" high at 100 yards three shots under a quarter. The adjustments have never been touched since the initial sighting in of rifle. This is true of all my Leupold scopes. I decided to try a mil-spec scope as I am retired and this gave me a new learning experience. The clarity of this scope all the way to the edge of sight picture is great. When I compare this with other high end brand scopes it is as clear or clearer. When I compare this scope to my other Leupolds I wonder why I paid so much for it as I have VX-II, VX-III, and VX-VI scopes on my rifles. Their clarity is very good all the way to the VX-II which is 44 years old. The H58 reticle on the first focal plain explains some of the price and the repeatability with the adjustments. Of coarse I never tried changing the adjustments on my other Leupold scopes after sighting them in. With this scope you can dial the shot where you want it then back to "0" and your dead on or use the Mil Dots to place a shot which is just as accurate with distance and windage. THANKS LEUPOLD for another great product.
