Great Binoculars; Would Recommend

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on November 2, 2008
Writing this because I didn't find much on the internet about this model. I first went to the store to purchase Nikon Monarchs based on the great reviews. Right beside this model were the Leupold Cascades. Being the same price, I compared both. Well, no comparison. To my eye, the Leupolds were sharper and brighter. I'm not an optics expert but just looking for nice optics at a reasonable price. Doing some research I found the Mojaves. Prefered the open style of this model with the addition of Silver enhanced prisms. Not available locally, I ordered from Optics Planet. Very satisfied with the Mojaves!!! Only thing I can say is that when I can, will be ordering the Mojave 10x40s and will be ordering again from Optics Planet. If you haven't ordered from here before, I think that you will find great products, great customer support, and great response.
Pros: Bright, Sharp, Light, great Camo finish
Cons: Don't care for the case

Great for one-handed viewing

I had been using the larger green ring 10x50 and decided to upgrade for this season. I took them out to Idaho for a week chasing elk. The treestand camo finish is very nice and durable. The only issue I had was customizing the focus to my eye. Reading the manual several times finally made me realize that the dial pulls out towards the eyepiece. Once that was set I was good to go.

The only downside is that the outer covers are detachable and easy to loose track of. You could probably put some scope covers on if you needed.

Overall the glass is very clear and worth the money and easy to hold steady one handed with the new design.
Pros: Small size, clarity
Cons: Wish the outer lens covers could be connected to the unit.
