The Leupold entry level Rifleman scope line has an excellent quality to expense ratio. It is, perhaps, the best value in the market. Have used Zeiss, Leupold-Stevens, Sheperd, Burris, Swarovski, Weaver and other mid range to high end optics. There are clearer, better, more job specific optics available but I've seen none at this price point.

Light transmission is good for all practical hunting and casual target shooting applications. As with all variable power optics, light transmission is best at lower power settings.

The "Rifleman Ballistics Reticle (RBR)" dots aid in assessing point of impact at longer ranges but you must determine at what ranges they coincide with the point of impact as dictated by your primary zero yardage, velocity and other ballistic variables. They work as advertised.

Personal experience indicates it holds zero well with calibers through 338 Win Mag. With any caliber producing more recoil than a 338, I can't say. It is durable and backed by Leupold's outstanding warranty and customer service.
