Did not last long - Leupold RX-1000i TBR Compact Digital Laser Rangefinder with DNA

I have had the RX-1000i for many years, but used it so scarcely that it is still on the original battery. It worked well up until recently. About two weeks ago out of the blue, the display started failing... showing only partial numbers and lines. Sent it back to Leupold, but they will not fix it as the warranty expired. Pretty weak considering it has hardly been used [original battery], does not have a scratch on it, and it is not cheap. I will not likely buy another Leupold RF. Overpriced and poor durability.
