Solid little package, absolutely recommend - Leupold RX-1600i TBR/W with DNA Laser Rangefinder

I recieved this rangefinder as a gift and all I have to say is AWESOME!

PROS: Small enough to fit in one hand, crystal clear optics, easy to read display in three brightness levels, simple to set up and use. The TBR function makes first round hits very likely (if you get the proper ammunition code entered, I didn’t get it right the first time) the codes for many common ammunitions come in the manual and are also available from Leupold. The TBR compensates for variations in ballistics when shooting uphill or downhill. It even has a mode for bow hunting (if you are into that sort of thing). This thing is dead accurate ranging all the way out to 1700 meters on a painted white steel plate. I wish my shooting was. Trees, rocks, deer and elk were easily and consistently ranged to 900 plus. Ground hogs, if you are steady, were ranged to 300 meters. They are pretty small and hard to see that far away even at the 6x power. I wear glasses and focus was perfect after some trials.

CONS: None really, focusing with big fingers is a bit tricky but can be done in steps. The plus here is, the focused eye piece stays put even with hundreds of ranges, in and out of the case as many times and dangling from my neck while walking. The eye piece has a tendency to fog (externally) momentarily on cold days when you put it to your warm face but what optic doesn't? I try to keep in inside my jacket to keep it warm but often forget and the display is still readable even when the eye piece is slightly fogged. This year i think I'll try some anti fog cleaner on the eye piece lense.

In all, a great product. I will now seriously consider Leupold when shopping for optics.
