Pros:
I have a Leupold RX-1000i TBR DNA rangefinder. It has been a GREAT rangefinder and I use it for bow and rifle hunts as well as setting up targets at known ranges. It's about 10 years old.
Cons:
1. The display on the RX-1000i has DIED. Digits won't display some of the segments, there are "holes" in some of the segments, and the rest of the segments are too dim to see in daylight.
2. Leupold will offer you a discount on a new rangefinder, but once again they have the OLED display, which they now say has a "limited lifetime".
3. Nobody in their right mind buys a rangefinder or a scope or a firearm with a known "limited lifetime".
I will never purchase another rangefinder from Leupold. I don't like their scopes either...not because of their optical quality, but because their eye relief consistently is too short on their magnified scopes.
Pros:
- Works great when it works
Cons:
- OLED display has a limited lifespan but Leupold keeps using them

Here is what I sent the company:
I purchased a rangfinder a little over two years ago and the yardage indicator lights only light up half way. HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU USE A RANGEFINDER DURING THE HUNTING SEASON??? You guy will not warranty it and I WILL NEVER BUY ONE OF YOUR PRODUCTS AGAIN. Starting today I will look ate every website that sells your products and post a negative review warning buyers you do not back your products, AND THEIR QUALITY IS JUNK!
SAVE YOURSELF SOME GRIEF, BY VORTEX WITH LIFETIME WARRANTY!!

Like many others, I have a lot of Leupold scopes and love them but every one of their rangefinders has a display problem where the readout fades over time, even if you don't use it. Eventually they will become to dark to see through and the factory will not repair, replace, or refund. The fact that they know about it and refuse to help is amazing. Do not buy.
Cons:
- All units quit working within 5-10 years
Best Used for:
- Halloween Costumes, self defense, trot line weight

Have used two Leupold range finders past 10 to 12 years for hunts throughout North America. All have performed well under wide range of conditions. Great value and solid performer. Only criticism is wish they had 7 or 8 magnification

Best range finder for the money. I’m extremely happy with this product. It’s definitely worth the extra money over the vortex ranger because of the ballistic calculators. Would recommend to a friend.....
Best Used for:
- hunting and target shooting

Leupold makes entirely too much money a year to offer a two year warranty on electronics. I didn’t have this particular model but this is the replacement for the one I had. A two year warranty is not worth what you pay for these. There are other companies that offer a lifetime warranty!!

I just bought this and took it on my first hunt last weekend. Like my other Leupold products, it is solid and easy to use, no complaints! The controls and display's were intuitive enough for my 8 year old to use.

Great product. Easy to use, switching back and forth from bow mode to rifle mode. Can quickly change load data for ranging with different rifles and ammo. Bright screen is easy to see, even in bright light. Will hope it lasts for many years.

Outstanding rangefinder. Excellent optics/internal engine. The 6x eyepiece is very nice in the woods or on the target range...crisp/clear image with ease of focus. The rubber coating is a big plus for silence in the woods/blind which some others do not have. More features than other brands and with 3 levels of brightness it is at the top of the heap...especially with the red led readout....cannot make out some others because of the color spectrum. Basically the functions are the same...just an upgraded engine...love the tenth (.1) of a yard readout as this is very handy for target. Having owned Bushnell, Leica, Vortex,...and 2 Leupold 1200i TBR W/DNA, this is the one I purchased based on quality and reliability when the time came to upgrade. My 1200i's are still running fine...it was time to add to the team as I beat the crud out of my rangefinders. And....Optics Planet fit the bill for the online purchase with an extremely competitive price without shipping cost. Leupold hit a homerun with this one.

I reviewed several different brands and models of rangefinders. Wanted one for both bow and gun. Then went stores to handle each one I was interested in. The Leupold impressed me the most. Easy to setup and use with high quality.
