Jim's Review of Leupold VX-3HD 2.5-8x36mm Rifle Scope, 1" Tube, Second Focal Plane (SFP)

Put this scope on a new 17 HMR and I think it is perfect for the rifle. It has the correct dimensions, and is light enough that the combination is easy to carry. The 2.5x8 variable power is plenty for shots out to 200 yards. As with all Leupold scopes the glass is awesome.
