Great dangerous game scope - Leupold VX6 1-6x24 CDS Riflescope w/ FireDot Illuminated Reticle

A true 1 to 6 power scope with classic Leupold eye relief and quality glass. Hunted Africa last time with conventional non-illuminated 1.25 to 4 scope with thick German post. Needed the thick post for discernment of reticle in dark shadows, but left much to be desired in critical snap shots with dangerous game. This scope changes the equation with a crisp variable brightness LED central dot and circle/post reticle. Its competitor is the Swarovski Z6i 1-6x24 Gen-2 CD-I at twice the price but not twice the performance. I was slow to appreciate illuminated scopes until I realized how much I was giving up in light to shadow performance with conventional scopes. The motion sensor technology will keep your scope functional longer between batteries. In close up shooting the true 1X power provides a both eyes open wide field of view needed to keep that charging Cape in view and the bright firedot to keep on target. No fish-eye sensation at low power. A desirable scope for dangerous game rifles and is presently on my 416 Rigby. I have point blank to 250 yard performance as needed.
