I already had a Leupold 1.25 x 3 but wanted to upgrade. The 1 x 6 is really nice. Leupold always has a quality product. Pricey but worth it in my opinion. I was able to go to the range recently and sight in this scope. Horizontal adjustment (right/left) was spot on- no need to adjust at all! I only needed to move the sight "up" a few clickers and right in the bulls eye! Very happy with this product. And as always- Optics Planet had quick delivery.

Don't do it, don't buy this, you can't afford it. If you buy this you will go to the gun safe and start culling all your other scopes. In my case this one purchase could cost me several thousand $$$$$$$.
Its glass rivals my Swarovski at a slightly cheaper entry cost and we all know Leupold's are much more robust than the Euro glass. The 1-6 illuminated reticle is perfect for the AR platform in low to no light pig hunting.

Great Scope!
I purchased this for my AR because I am 65 now, my eyes don't focus without reading or distance glasses. Red Dots or Iron Sights are ok if I have on the right glasses only, and then always a compromise. Having this Scope allows me to go from distance in a Defensive Rifle class to CQB Long Gun Operator Class. The 1x6 makes it all possible with the ability to focus the optic for my eyes is Great! Doing a button hook entry from a normal light room into low light with the FireDot substitutes well for the RedDot / Holographic.

This is a review of Leupold's 1-6x rifle scope. Bought for 3 gun competition. Optics clear and eye relief very acceptable. Adjustment of power and focus precise. Ordered an aftermarket quick throw lever to change power quickly. Leupold needs to offer their own proprietary item to insure proper fit/operation. Mounting and adjustment posed no problem although will note using a Burris PEPR mount came close to running out of vertical travel adjustment.
Scope works perfectly with no glitches. Easy acquisition of paper out to 300 yards so far. Holds zero. Have not used illuminated reticle yet.
Optics Planet also gets reviewed for customer service. Originally bought another brand 1-6x scope. Cheaper. Had for several months. Never worked to my satisfaction. Called OP and they accepted other scope back for card credit with no whining, fussing or moaning. 5 stars for OP service.

This scope is awesome and holds zero very well. The CMR2 reticle is probably the best reticle that Leupold has for competition shooting. The only negative thing I can say about this scope is that the illumination button is less than desirable on a scope this expensive. Leupold should definitely update this with a knob like other comparable optics. Sometimes it works well and other times it does not. This is the second VX-6 that I have purchased and both had the same issue.

Just mounted & sighted in last weekend. I have not used it under bright sunlight condition so I can't comment on the red dot. The reticle is clear, eye relief just right & overall a very well built optic. Best of all it says on the scope USA designed machined & assembled. So far great scope for the price.

This was a great purchase. Leupold's high quality as always. Prefect for your Ar platforms and the 1-6 magnification fulfills all your shooting needs. Easy to mount and the illuminated rec tiles are very sharp. The elevation and windage turrets are sturdy and easy to use.

I have used only Leupold products for over 40 years. This was my 1st try with their illuminated duplex reticle option on a top of the line VX-6 model. When I activated the red dot and pushed the side button to increase red dot size and brightness, about the 3rd level the red dot begins to flare or starburst and becomes ineffective and distracting. Also, looking at the illuminated warranty, while Leupold gold ring scopes have a lifetime warranty any electronic components have only a 2 year warranty which for a scope of this cost says something. I returned the scope.
Pros:
- like the 30mm tube
- optics very clear and bright
Cons:
- illuninated reticle flares
- power adjustment knob very stiff

I've been looking for a good scope for the tach-optics division in 3-Gun and this seems to fit the bill. A true one power works almost as well as a holographic red-dot, quick to acquire target, both eyes open, large eye relief so it's quick on the target. I wasn't sure about the CDS reticle but have grown to love it. It makes for quick combat accurate shots which are perfect for 3-Gun and, well it's a Leupold Gold Ring, so the optics are very very good. I've always liked the Leupold life time warranty, even though I've only had to use it once on a much older hunting scope. I'm not totally convenience that the FireDot Illumination really helps, certainly in daylight it's of little use to me, maybe at dusk or if I was shooting on a course with some dark backgrounds it would be more helpful, but in the Southwest, where I live, I haven't seen a lot of advantage. Still it works as advertised and may prove helpful in situations I just haven't encountered yet. The zoom range is perfect for close shots typical of 3-Gun yet powerful enough for even my ageing eyes to find the target out to 400 yards or so.
All in all a very good scope.
Pros:
- Excellent Glass
- Good clear field of view
- The CDS reticle is very quick and easy to use
- Perfect zoom range for 3-Gun competition
- Motion sensor for FireDot reticle
Cons:
- The FireDot on-off switch isn't as positive as I'd like
- Zoom control is a bit still
Best Used for:
- Close Quarters to mid range shooting
- 3-Gun or close to medium range rifle

I used this for the first time tonight. Zeroed at 50 yards then hit metal out to 600 with retical holds. I ran out of time for testing the 1 power setting but the 6 power is awesome. Very nice product.
