Bought this for an up coming african hunt - Leupold VX-6HD 3-18x44mm Rifle Scope, 30mm Tube, Second Focal Plane

I have researched scopes for a long time now in preparation for an African Hunt in April. I decided on the Leupold VX-6 HD 3x18x44. It was alittle pricier than the other scopes I had on my list, Vortex Viper Pst 5x25 and the Burris XTR2 but I thnik the quality and clarity of Leupold is worth it. This scope looks amazing to me coming from my trusty Nikon Prostaff 3x9x50.I mounted this on my Remy 700 SPS AAC-SD.I have only had it out to 200 yds. at this point but it was nice to see bullet holes that clearly. I like the zero stops and illuminated 29 reticle. I look forward to trying it ouit in Africa in a few days. My wife said when it arrived " this better be one helluva scope" It is definately a quality scope at a quality price, but I will keep it for a lifetime and pass down to my son,But for now he gets the Nikon.
