Liberty Sport Warranty

by JT, from KY, United States Written on March 4, 2015
Okay so the silicone nose pad started to peel off within a month of owning these lenses. I waited until the nose pad was about 90% off before contacting the manufacturer. My initial contact was to request to purchase a new nose pad piece to repair myself.

Anita, the company representative, responded 3 business days later by sending an email back saying that they'd be happy to take care of the issue for me. Here are the steps: me removing the Rx lenses, mailing the whole frame back to them with $49.95, them cashing my check or money order, then company would mail out another frame to me. This is their, "Warranty" folks as no replacement nose pad parts are available.

Anyone that has looked at purchasing sunglasses wholesale and then selling retail knows that the average cost of sunglasses range from $1 to $10 a piece from the manufacturer. With the magnets in these Liberty Sport Chopper sunglasses and fancy packaging, I'd guess their cost is closer to the $10 range.

I responded to Anita that I would not be taking her company's offer of a, "warranty." It'll be cheaper to use eye insurance next year. Folks, please don't buy from this company. They will not support you down the road.

Expect to lose the magnetic pieces

by Legacy Reviewer, from NJ, United States Written on June 9, 2014
One day the piece that's held in by a magnet is there and the next day all that's left is the magnet. The glue that held the magnet to the piece failed. When I complained to the company representative, I was told that is normal wear and tear. They wouldn't make good on their product.

If they chose to use glue, it should last forever. The piece should wear out first. Appently premature failure is considered normal to this company. Avoid their products.
Pros: None
Cons: The glue they use lets go
