Good, compact little safe that should fit most semi-automatics - Lock State SafeCase Biometric Safe

This is a great little safe that should fit nicely into most nightstand drawers, as it does in mine. It is very sturdy and will keep anyone else within the home from getting access to the contents. The BioMetric technology is the latest generation, so there is no swiping of fingers. You just put your digit on a glass screen for reading. You can also save multiple images of your finger(s) from slightly different angles to minimize the possibility of a failure to read.
The door is not spring-loaded so you need to physically open the door once it unlocks in about a second or two, or else the lock will re-engage. So long as you know that, it works just fine. Also, there is an audible signal during operation that some may not want to have since it may alert an intruder, for instance, as to your whereabouts. I've read that the speaker wire can be disconnected, but there is no way provided to turn the function off. All in all, though, it is a great little safe and it works well to control access to whatever you keep inside.
